Proposal Minimize

Hello,

My name is Lane Campbell. I would love to work on this website as it seems like and fun project.

Based on your requirements, I would recommend utilizing the DotNetNuke CMS system for your site as it will allow you full control of your content (without being a programmer) and it will provide all of the basic website plumbing you need for this project (user registration, security, paypal shopping cart, Forum, etc).

I have implemented several sites with DotNetNuke, a popullar CMS system based on Microsoft technologies. I can also host your website on one of my servers if you are interested(Ongoing web hosting fees would be a separate cost). Here are a couple of examples:
http://familydetails.com
http://mfs.capita.com/

This website was also created  using DotNetNuke.

I have strong creative design skills (I did the design and back-end implementations of both of the sites above), but starting with a template from templatemonster.com is also an option . Either way, I will ensure that you end up with a highly professional looking website and I'll work with you upfront  to detremine the specific requirements so that you know exactly what your getting.

The familydetails.com project has many of the elements that you are looking for in your project, so I will be able to leverage some of the components I developed from that project.

I only take on one project at a time and I am currently open for a new project. I am new to guru, and need  to build up my rating and portfolio so please be assured that if awarded this project, I will strive for perfection for both the site itself and your total satisfaction.

Also, how do you plan to drive traffic to your site? I also offer SEO services if you happen to be interested.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank You,
Lane Campbell

Project Description Minimize

I am opening bids for development of opensourcedownloads.com. This will be the first iteration of the site and will want a developer who is willing to start small with this project but then work with the project moving forward as it grows.

I am looking for the following:

Community based
Content management system based (i.e. drupal, etc)
Bulletin Board/Forum
Google Adsense search and ads integration
Different software categories (we will agree on a list of ten for the project)
Under each category a list of the top ten open source projects with verbose, keyword rich, descriptions of each
Links to download each from another source, i.e. redhat, ubuntu, Digium, etc.

Ability for customers to leave reviews

The ten software projects ranked by how many times the download link was selected.

On the front page auto-updating news from multiple RSS feeds plus the same on each of the 10 software category sections.

A section for customers to request other items to be added to the site for download or review. Also an area for developers to request their project be added.

I am NOT trying to duplicate sourceforge but more trying to provide a simple site giving people the ability to find the top downloaded open source projects.

There will be many more additions, but I want to keep it simple up front to get this moving.

I must retain rights to all code and the ability to resuse on the site as needed if future requirements or bids are not competitive.
